The first Deputy Grand Knight, Robert Tucker, would have moved up to follow as the second GK, and he was nominated, but he wouldn't accept the nomination because his new job would have him
traveling too much. Ron Hall also did business out of town often, but was able to attend all the meetings until he moved away and couldn't finish his term. There is debate over how long he actually served, but most agree that it must have been over six months since his picture appears on the roll of Past Grand Knights. The rest of his term was served out by his DGK Charles Spencer.
