2019 Scholarship Program Award Winners
Joseph Toia Memorial Scholarship - Long time member and generous Council #3744 supporter Brother Knight Joseph Toia passed away on December 13, 2016. As an expression of Joe's love for the Knights, his family requested that, in lieu of flowers at his funeral, donations be made to the Council #3744 Scholarship Program. Brother Joe Toia's wife, Lori, and the Toia family have also pledged to support the program with the establishment of a perpetual annual scholarship in Joe's memory. The initial scholarship was awarded at the 2017 Scholarship Breakfast.
To donate to this perpetual scholarship, please send checks made payable to Knights of Columbus #3744, Attn: Ed Stokx, 8049 W Manchester Ave, Playa del Rey, CA 90293 ("Toia Scholarship" in the memo section). For more information, or to donate by credit card, please contact Paul Condran PGK at 310-505-4616.
Special thanks to past Scholarship Program Chairman Tony Leoni, new Chairman Carl Pentis, our applicant judges, the cooks and crew for the awards breakfast, and the families of all our winning scholars! It is always a wonderful occasion for our Council to be able to recognize the faithful Catholic students in our community for their academic, social, and religious activities. We wish the recipients all the best on the next step of their academic journeys!
